The numbers, up front

What the service call actually buys
It is not a fee for showing up. It covers a real diagnosis: pulling the unit, testing the circuit, reading the fault codes, and finding out what actually failed instead of guessing at a part. That diagnosis is the work. Once you approve the repair, that money comes straight off the total.
The range exists because a built-in refrigerator in Jackson Township is not the same job as a top-load washer six minutes from the shop. Sealed-system work takes different tools and more time. Distance costs drive time. Rather than average it into one inflated number that overcharges the easy jobs, we quote the tier that matches your job.
What a finished repair runs
- $150 to $200 — simple mechanical fixes. Lid switches, door latches, thermostats, belts, drain pumps. A Canton washer we worked on recently needed a lid switch adjusted, nothing replaced.
- $200 to $350 — the most common band. Evaporator fan motors, defrost timers, igniters, drive couplers, heating elements, harnesses.
- $350 and up — control boards and sealed-system work. Worth doing on a newer or high-end unit, rarely worth it on an older budget machine.
