The Repair

Pulled fault history via SmartHQ Service: 7 faults logged, including active F23 ×2 (critical door lock failure, most recent), F8 ×10 (pressure sensor loss), and F31 ×1 (out of balance, final spin), all on three consecutive cycles, plus one inactive F66 inverter fault. The washer powered up and communicated but would not start due to the door lock fault. Quoted the customer for a door lock, and for a door lock plus inverter board; the customer understood both may be needed. Replaced the door lock. The new lock did not attempt to activate, and further testing showed the machine shut down when a cycle was started. Through SmartHQ Service Operate Loads, none of the water valves, the drain pump, or the door lock would activate, and damper position read Unknown. Measured a consistent 124 VAC supply at the main board. Relays could occasionally be heard clicking, but no 120 VAC components operated, across loads fed by separate harness branches. Replaced the main board. The water valves and drain pump then operated, but the door lock would not activate until the personality was set on the new control. After setting the personality, the washer locked, filled, washed, and drained normally. Repair completed with replacement of both the door lock and the main board, and the unit is operating properly.
