The Problem
Refrigerator not cooling internally — internal cooling fan suspected not working, external fan running, food getting warm
The Repair
Fresh food section warm, freezer still holding. Checked FF damper — opens/closes freely, OK. Evaporator fan not running. Measured 120 VAC at the main control board evap fan output with compressor running — board is sending power, fan motor is not responding. Evap fan motor (WPW10128551) failed; no cold air moved to the fresh food section. Recommend replacing the evaporator fan motor.
Replaced evaporator fan motor (WPW10128551). Used steamer to clear ice and frost buildup from the evaporator coil. Fan running, unit cooling, airflow to fresh food section restored. Everything checks good. Fresh food section will take several hours to pull down to temperature.
