The Problem
Refrigerator not cooling — freezer and refrigerator sides both lukewarm overnight, unit is running but not cooling
The Repair
Refrigerator was found in Cooling Off mode, with both temperature display windows showing OF/OF rather than actual readings, which is why it appeared dead and unresponsive to power attempts. Cooling was restored by holding the Lighting and Freezer buttons together for 3 seconds, toggling the unit out of Cooling Off; compressor started immediately and condenser/evaporator operation resumed normally, with brief refrigerant gurgling as the system re-equalized after sitting idle, which settled out as expected. Confirmed compressor running, condenser fan turning, and evaporator fan operating in the freezer compartment. No fault codes, sensor errors, or board issues present — unit was simply switched into Cooling Off mode, likely by inadvertent contact with the display panel. Advised customer that the panel is easy to bump into that mode and to try the same button combo before calling for service if it recurs.
